The INSEED project aims to create a modern framework for training and skills forming in higher education in science, design and services management (SPMS) and to promote innovation in service industry based on a model of open, continuous education and cloud type distributed computing infrastructure with virtualized resources and accesible as services, interconnected at European structures.

Technical University of Brasov provide and develop resources and tools needed to run the processes of education and scientific research to high quality standards, ensuring competitiveness in the European Higher Education and Research. UTBv comprises 16 faculties, having a teaching staff that has over 1600 employees of which over 800 teachers holding. To meet the training needs of candidates and employers' requirements, UTBv has continuously expanded and diversified educational offer at integrated flow level: bachelor, master and doctoral Bologna schedule.

Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, which provides most of the project team, prepares the top specialists in computers and information technology, automation and applied computer science, telecommunications, electrical engineering, applied electronics, with over 1,800 students. UTBv, as a leading provider of highly qualified specialists for the Central Region of Romania, provides training in the interplay of software and hardware training in areas - integrated hardware implementation structures of algorithms for data processing applications, high performance computing, computational intelligence (embedded systems). The focus is on developing specific Internet applications (web applications, e-commerce, e-learning, e-administration, etc.). A priority is the training of specialists in monitoring and automatic control of alternative energy sources.

Regarding the research plan, UTBv realized and capitalized a number of results-based grants won in national and international competitions, fro example grants and contracts Leonardo da Vinci with industry and government. The scientific research strategy promotes national / international partnerships with universities and research centers. UTBv has a consistent experience in developing and implementing projects focused on: Creating and remote accesing of research and teaching resources, creating of proper tools for communications in multiple wayws between different actors (partners in project, users), development of the framework for evaluation of the knowledge achieved in practice, implying methodlogies specific for remote experiments, creation of learning centers remote acces based architecture for training based on experiments.
